(05-25) 04:00 PST Castro Valley -- Castro Valley's newest track club for kids has its roots at the bottom of Jim Phillips' dresser drawer.

That was where the running enthusiast happened upon his old Valley Track Club jersey, a reminder of the short-lived group he and other Castro Valley High School distance runners formed in the early '70s to find other venues for racing.
